The Switch – Work. Love. Mortal Danger.

Yesterday, Sü was an upwardly-mobile software manager. Today she’s out as trans, unemployed and sleeping on her ex’s couch at the unfashionable bottom of the rabbit hole that is the East Vancouver Queer Underground.

The Switch – Work. Love. Mortal Danger. from Ingo Lou on Vimeo.

Thrown into a world of marginal living, social inequity and quas- legal employment, will she claw her way back to her old status? Or, to her horror, will she adapt and thrive?

As the world’s first television sitcom to cast trans actors in ALL trans roles, The Switch challenges traditional hollywood casting models that do little to change how transgender people are portrayed in film and television.

With the Trump government stoking the culture war with border harassment, cooking the planet, and telling trans children where to pee, The Switch isn’t just innovative comedy – it’s a fresh volley of humour in the culture war. Seeing the world from a young, worldly lens, The Switch combines dark humour, no-BS politics and video game references to make entertainment for today’s online world.

Sü is played by pro wrestler Nyla “The Destroyer” Rose, Chris is played by political humorist Amy Fox, and Chris’ nemesis/neighbour cis Detective Sandra McKay is played by Andrea Menard of APTN’s Hard Rock Hospital and Blackstone.
